What is the CFE?

If you are running a business in France you will want to know about the CFE.

CFE stand for Costisation Fonciere Enterprises and it is a tax payable by professionals who habitually
carry out a self-employed activity on January 1 of the tax year.

It is paid by businesses to the local authorities and collected by the tax office.

This business tax is paid online and you set up your account in the business section of the French tax website
www.impots.gouv.fr 

The process takes time to set up so allow yourself several weeks do so.

This tax is not the same as your personal tax.
