French property buyers how to create a more sustainable French property

esrea france

As a French real estate owner you can consider the following options to help make your home more sustainable and potentially save money as well as reducing your carbon footprint.

One

Make sure your appliances are energy efficient. If it is not affordable to buy new you can also find in France stores that sell used appliances that maybe more efficient than what you currently own. Stores like ENVIE.

Two

Make sure you use high-quality insulation to keep your home cool in summer and reduce air conditioning costs and warm in winter to reduce heating costs. Check if there are any current French government financial aid for your work on improving the insulation in your home.

Three
Instead of replacing cabinets in a kitchen consider repainting or refacing like changing the doors and handles to refresh your home. This can be less expensive and will reduce your contribution to the landfill waste disposal center.

Four

Add solar panels to heat your water or heat your home to reduce your dependence on the electrical grid and hopefully reduce your expenses over time.

Five

Add skylights to your home to increase natural lighting and reduce the usage of using electrical lights on cloudy days.

Six

Install a hot water heat on demand system so that when you are not using your water tank it is not constantly heading water that you are not using for example when you are away for a few days. Over time this can reduce cost and also be more friendly for the planet.
