When is tax freedom day in France?
France has a special honor when it comes to tax freedom day. Let us first clarify what we mean by Tax Freedom day.
It is the day of the year when you start to earn money for yourself and not to pay government taxes. It varies by country and good tax planning can help you wherever you live.
Tax Freedom day does not come early in the year in France what with income tax, social security tax, capital gains tax, VAT, municipal tax and the list goes on. Even when you stop working you still pay taxes.
France’s tax freedom day
For the 6th year France has the special honor of holding the latest Tax Freedom day of July 19th, the same as in Austria. This is the symbolic date that French workers stop paying their tax is over halfway through the year –French employees work 200 days of the year just to pay their tax bill.
