What is a un réducteur de pression in a French house?

When you own French real estate it is important that you maintain the quality of the systems in your French home.

Unfortunately, someone I know told me the other day that a plumber had came to her house and found that the problem with the lack of water coming to the taps was because ‘un réducteur de pression’ had stopped working.

What is a un réducteur de pression? It is according to my friend’s plumber a device that reduces the pressure of water coming into a home to a pressure that is the appropriate amount for using in the home. The one in her home was old and had broken down.

Un réducteur de pression or pressure regulator as we would say in English is one of the many pieces of a French home that you have to maintain and it would be a good idea to have the systems in your new French home checked to make sure they are working before you buy your French property.

We continue to suggest to you that when you are buying a French home to have it inspected before you decide on buying the home.
