It always starts with the location of the property. Is it desirable? Is it a location that will appreciate over time? Some people will tell you a beautiful home with a great floor plan will move into first position for the value of the property. However, how can this be true? You can indeed build a nicer home in a great location but you cannot create a nicer location than the one the property is in. So location remains top priority

In a French real estate advertisement have you ever wondered what does Pas de tableau electrique mean?
Maybe you guessed it, it means no electrical panel. This many sound amazing but we have visited old French homes where there was no electrical panel in place so you can only guess that the cost of the electrical work to be done in the home would be significant to bring the home up to current safety standards.
Make sure you have a qualified electrician inspect a home that needs electrical work and make sure that you get more than one estimate of the cost to have the electrical work done.

Have your read the phrase in a French real estate advertisement ‘avec grange’ and wondered what it means?
Grange is the French word for Barn. Often but not always a ‘grange’can be at the bottom, entry level of an old home because that is where the animals used to sleep or food for animals was stored, of course, it can also be a separate building.

Have you ever read a French real estate advertisement with the phrase ‘La cuisine est à équiper’?
When I read this I was curious and it means that you have to equip the kitchen. It may just be an empty room with pipes for the sink coming out of the wall. Sometimes with cupboards and sometimes not but most likely without any appliances or counter space.
