If you are selling a French co-propriété’ make sure you have all the documents the notary will need according to the ‘loi Alur’ or any newer versions of the French real estate act.

Why is this important? You have to read the documentation to know the financial as well as physical condition of the building or residence you live in since serious buyer’s will ask for the details.

If you were buying, would you want to know if there is any outstanding debt or pending work on the residence?
Yes, we all would since we most likely will have to pay for it or arrange that the seller pay’s for it.

Consult your notary to make sure you know what documentation you need to review and have available for buyer’s to review. Don’t lose a buyer because you are not prepared.
