What is a vasque? what is a lavabo?
Today in French homes there is a trend towards ‘vasques’ which are wash basins. The are often suspended
or installed inside another piece of furniture. Since they can be suspended this can be perfect for people
with reduced mobility. Typically they are contained like in the photo inside a cabinet allowing for
excellent storage opportunities.
Also still in existence and still quite popular is the ‘lavabo’ which we call in English a sink. The lavabo is typically on top of a column and offer easy access to clean underneath them.
