The French government has announced that starting September 19 2013 they will have a new program to encourage French people to make their homes more energy efficient.
The program has a slogan “J’éco-rénove, j’économise” ( I renovate ecologically, I save money)
According to an article in French on Explorimmo, the French Government’s goal is to have renovated “500,000 units per year, each year by 2017 and reduce 38% of energy consumption in the building sector by 2020.”
The program will offer loans at a zero percent interest rate up to 30 000 Euros plus other types of government assistance. Details are in French on the French Government site located at www.renovation-info-service.gouv.fr
