I am buying a French property, do I need a financing clause in the contract?

From a French Notary we were told that when you are buying a French property and you anticipate you will need financing it is extremely important you have the appropriate clause and details in the contract of purchase (compromis de vente).

According to the French notary, if you do not have the clause with the right details included in the ‘compromis de vente’ and you cannot get your financing you will not be able to exit the obligations to purchase the property

Make sure you know your responsibilities before you sign a ‘compromis de vente’ get advice from your French notary or French property lawyer.
