Your dream French real estate can be burned down and lives can be lost if a fire starts and gets out of control. One way to help prevent tragedy is to install a smoke detector.
According to the French minister of Housing a fire happens every two minutes in France causing 10,000 injuries and 800 deaths each year.
What is shocking is that according to an article in Explorimmo Gaëlle Alloin a director of marketing for KIDDE, a company that sells smoke detectors “only around 60 to 65 percent of homes in France have a smoke detector” even though a law requiring the installation of a smoke detector in French homes came into effect almost one year ago.
