French real estate advertisement what does the the term avec grange mean?

Have your read the phrase in a French real estate advertisement ‘avec grange’ and wondered what it means?

Grange is the French word for Barn. Often but not always a ‘grange’can be at the bottom, entry level of an old home because that is where the animals used to sleep or food for animals was stored, of course, it can also be a separate building.

When you see in a French real estate advertisement ‘Le bien est équipé de la VMC’ this is short for ventilation mécanique controlée which in english stands for Controlled Mechanical Ventilation.

The VMC’s purpose is to ensures ventilation and air renewal inside a particularly room takes place.

French real estate: what does La cuisine est a equiper mean?

Have you ever read a French real estate advertisement with the phrase ‘La cuisine est à équiper’?

When I read this I was curious and it means that you have to equip the kitchen. It may just be an empty room with pipes for the sink coming out of the wall. Sometimes with cupboards and sometimes not but most likely without any appliances or counter space.

‘belle facade en pierre’ means the home has a stone exterior which is a classic finish on homes in many French villages.

However, stone exteriors can sometimes be covered in a stucco like finish to avoid the maintenance of the stone exterior.

You may find a French home that has a beautiful stone facade hidden.
