If you read ‘point forts’ in a French real estate advertisement you may wonder what it means.
‘Point fort’ could be literally translated into ‘strong points’ or main features or benefits of a piece of French real estate.
So “Points forts: Climatisation, partout Volets électriques, Excellent état.” could be read as strong points: air conditioning, electric shutters all around and excellent condition.

In October in France there are the French National Days of Architecture.
The national architecture days give you the opportunity to participate in meetings with architects, to visit new places, to participate in workshops and many other activities.
Architecture is at the heart of our daily lives, in housing, transport, places of culture, public facilities and yet we sometimes pay very little attention to it.

French real estate buyers Reason to Learn the French Language Number Five
French real estate buyers who start to learn conversational French can be better prepared when the time arrives to speak with a French only speaking builder or renovation expert to help with changes in your home.
Why is this important?
In our experience, there are very few English speaking French renovation experts in many parts of France and since the supply is limited you will have to pay a premium price. So to help avoid frustration and potentially have a quicker response, you can do what I did and learn conversational French
Another real bonus is that when you can understand and speak basic French you can build rapport with the French property owner and this could potentially help you get a better price on the property or at least get your offer accepted.
