If you are coming to France with the goal of potentially buying French real estate it is a very good idea to take the time to understand French real estate terminology and how it sounds when spoken.

In French real estate advertising what does une vue splendide sur la plaine de la Vaunage mean?

If you seen the reference to the work Vaunage in a French real estate advertisement you may be curious to find out that it is, in fact, something unique to a certain area in France.

If the property has ‘une vue splendide sur la plaine de la Vaunage’ it has a wonderful view over the Vaunage but what is the Vaunage?

The Vaunage, in our understanding, is an area of southern France in the department called ‘Gard’ made up of the plains and small hills around Nages. Many of the plains contain vineyards. In wikipedia it is noted that the French villages in the Vaunage are as follows: Caveirac, Clarensac, Langlade, Saint-Dionizy, Nages-et-Solorgues, Calvisson, Boissières, Saint-Côme-et-Maruéjols, Congénies.
