French real estate Delai de Retraction what does this mean?

In France when you buy real estate there is a consumer protection law that gives you the buyer the opportunity to exit the agreement within a certain period of time without penalty for the buyer (subject to certain conditions)

This ‘delai de retraction’ is also called the ‘cooling off period’ or the days of reflection’.
