According to Ulrich Maurel, president of Immoprêt, a network of French mortgage brokers, the number one reason you should investigate the opportunity to renegotiate your French property mortgage is if the difference between the rate on your mortgage and the current market rate is one percent, that is the current market interest rate is one percent lower than the rate on your mortgage.
If the difference is less than one percent the difference may not be worth the effort to renegotiate.
In addition, you need to consider the amount of time left on the loan and how much money is owed.
