What percentage of French people are happy with their French residence?

According to a new survey by Ipsos on quality of habitation in France published on May 14 2014 approximately seven out of ten French property owners are happy with their housing conditions.

French property owners surveyed were happy with the location, size, exposure to light and plan of their residence BUT there are not always so happy with the energy efficiency of their home.

Many French people desire to renovate their home to make it more energy efficient.

What does Bastide mean in a French real estate advertisement?

In French real estate a Bastide is a term used for a manor house in the south of France. A Bastide is typically larger and more elegant than a Mas (defined here). Historically, Bastide’s were occupied by wealthy French Farmers.
