76 percent of French property owners find having an insulated home important

TWO

71 percent of French property owners find ventilation and protection against humidity as important

THREE

72 percent of French property owners find protection again electrical and fire risks important.

What percentage of French people are happy with their French residence?

According to a new survey by Ipsos on quality of habitation in France published on May 14 2014 approximately seven out of ten French property owners are happy with their housing conditions.

French property owners surveyed were happy with the location, size, exposure to light and plan of their residence BUT there are not always so happy with the energy efficiency of their home.

Many French people desire to renovate their home to make it more energy efficient.

How much are French notary fees in a real estate transaction?

The purchase of a French real estate property requires the payment of the French notary’s fees. How much are the notary fees is an important question? This year (2014) the fees when up.

What does Bastide mean in a French real estate advertisement?

In French real estate a Bastide is a term used for a manor house in the south of France. A Bastide is typically larger and more elegant than a Mas (defined here). Historically, Bastide’s were occupied by wealthy French Farmers.

A Bastide can be square in design with a tile roof and may be built around an inner courtyard.
