Who pays the French property Tax?

French property owners, owners by gift or inheritance or trustees of a French property have to pay the French property tax each year.

This tax called ‘TAXE FONCIÈRE’ is said to be equal to 50 percent of the rental value of a home. The rental value is calculated based on a municipal tariff for renting.

What does the term Marches mean in a French real estate advertisement?

French real estate advertisements have their own unique meanings. The term ‘Marches‘ may be seen in an French real estate advertisement in the following way. ‘5 Marches’ à la chambre. 5 Marches means 5 steps typically upwards to the bedroom.
