Perhaps, with the price of installing solar panels becoming less French people will turn to sun power to reduce their energy bill.

Google has a new project called Project Sunroof that is using Google’s extensive mapping data and computing resources to help calculate the best solar plan for you.

The French Trend to Small Homes Will it Happen?

esrea france

People are investing in small real estate in different parts of the world.

In the past some French homes were very small like the one in the above photo. Perhaps it will happen (again) in France.

Smaller individual homes can be a lifestyle choice for 4 reasons:

One
The cost of buying a individual home in many major cities throughout France and the rising cost of home ownership is encouraging people to invest in or build smaller homes.

Examples of 10 Small homes from other countries can be seen here

Two
If you look at the amount of environmental impact a large home has you may start to consider living in a smaller space. You can always rent space when family comes to town.

Three
The trend to a simpler more back to basics life style that has really come of age is continuing to encourage people to consider owning a smaller home.

The preference to spend less money on housing to make sure enough money is saved for retirement is also an important factor for people choosing smaller less expensive homes.

High Rise Wooden Apartment Buildings in France?

Will the French skyline be greeted by new high rise apartment buildings made from wood?

In different parts of the world there appears to be a growing trend in the creation of wooden buildings due to the lower carbon footprint compared to concrete buildings.

Critiques ask questions that include concerns about the potential reduced longevity of wooden buildings and the potential problem of fires taking hold of a wooden building much easier than a concrete building.

What do you think?

This site is all about French real estate and connecting people with French real estate professionals, however, to our surprise one of the most popular articles on this site is an article we wrote on how do you qualify to become a French real estate agent.

From experience (I worked for 7 years in Canadian real estate) and from contact with other agents, I can tell you that the French real estate industry is unlike the industries in England, U.S.A, Canada, Australia to name just a few countries. It is a complicated industry and you need to know all the details before you invest time to fully qualify.

If you would like to find out more about  what it is actually like to work in French real estate visit this link. No one would want to enter an industry without learning about it first, would you?
