Not happy

The result of Brexit appears to have an immediate impacted on the feelings of non-UK nationals living in England who have contacted ESREA France for advice on how to find an English speaking French real estate agent in France.

For privacy we cannot mention any names, however, let us say we have received more than one inquiry in the day that has passed since the BREXIT vote was taken and the inquiries have been from non-UK nationals who have written to tell us they no longer feel welcome in England even though they have been living in England and paying taxes to support the UK economy.

Their decision is to start to investigate a move to France.

David Hennessey, the founder of ESREA France volunteered the Monday that just passed to assist in a local event designed to raise money for orphan children in Nepal. David helped out to welcome event attendees.

There was a Yogathon organized by a local association Yogathon Azur and participants donated money to help support the needs of the children including rebuilding of schools impacted by recent earthquakes.

What is L’acte authentique in a French real estate transaction?
The L’acte authentique is the final signing of the document that binds the sale of a French real estate property between a buyer and seller. It is typically the day the buyer becomes the owner and the owner gives up ownership in return for money.

The L’acte authentique is signed by the buyer and the seller and the French notary who is authorized to conduct this action. Prior to signing of the document certain steps must have happened. For example, the seller’s notary must have received all the necessary funds from the buyer and the conditions noted in the compromis de vente must be completed.

It is at the signing of the L’acte authentique the seller gives the keys of the property to the buyer. More details can be found with your English speaking French notary.
