What is Chauffage par le sol in a French real estate ad?

In France, there are many different types of heating systems in apartments and houses. One kind is ‘Chauffage par le Sol’. This type of heating is heating that is in the floor and it is sometimes called ‘radiant in floor heating’ in English.

Chauffage par le Sol can be through pipes filled with hot water or a special form of electrical heating in the ground or another system.

It is important to ask the owner of the French property with ‘chauffage par le sol’ what type of system they have in place and the condition of the system.
