What does the French term parquet mean in a real estate ad?

In a French real estate advertisement the French word ‘parquet’ is typically referring to a wooden floor in a house or apartment. It does not mean the type of wood floor and it could also be referring to a floor that is not made of solid wood. You will need to check.

This is in contrast to the very popular type of floor called ‘Carrelage’ found in many French homes. Read what Carrelage means here.
