Lead Testing in French Properties: Maybe Cancer Causing

In France, properties for sale or rent must be tested for the presence of lead in the paint and due to a new law in France in 2006 the test for the presence of lead must be below the surface level.

Unfortunately, this deep testing device used to test for lead is a nuclear based device and French diagnostic technicians appear to be getting cancer from using these machines.

There have been several cases of leukemia experienced by French property diagnostic technicians, in fact in the last seven years nine diagnosticians were victims of leukemia or cancer. Four of them have died.

An investigation into the health impact of this lead testing technology has been started.
