What is a studette in a French real estate ad?

A Studette is a small French apartment. Typically, it is a small studio apartment that may be part of a house.

It may also be called a chambre de bonne, depending on the facilities included with the apartment. In fact, sometimes a chambre de bonne is advertised as a studette.

The key is to ask the seller what facilities are included in the apartment, for example, is there a kitchen? is there a bathroom? is there a toilet?
