What does the French term pour location or à louer mean in a French real estate ad?

“Pour location” in a French real estate ad does NOT refer to location of the property in fact it is the French phrase to state a property is ‘ for rent’.

The term ‘à louer’ means ‘available to rent’. It you are renting in French you are called ‘le locataire’ i.e. the renter.
