I am buying a French villa, do I need to ask for the kitchen fixtures or cabinets?

In France, like some other countries what is a fixture and is typically included in the sale of a villa or apartment may not be what you think it is, especially if you live in North America where you would never expect the homeowner to take the kitchen cabinets with them when they leave, but this can happen in France.

Make sure you have your French notary write into the compromis de vente all the items you expect to be included in the purchase price including the Kitchen SinkDo not take the risk they will be present when you move in unless it is agreed to in writing. Consult with your notary.
