2014 New Build French Real Estate Market Update

According to the French Ministry of housing new French real estate construction went down 17.6 percent between the months of February and April this year 2014.

In the First three months the decline was 11.4 percent so the amount of French newly built property continues to decline.

President Hollande’s goals of 500,000 new residences to help lower property prices is unlikely to be achieved during his five years as president.

Potential Causes:
Rising French Unemployment so local buyers are afraid to invest.
Increased Requirement for French Bank Loans

However, if you qualify for a loan or can pay cash there are some very nice new French built properties on the market. Perhaps, you are looking for a sea view apartment in Cannes within walking distance to the beach, or an apartment with mountain and sea view.
